Abstract:
Sumhiary and Conclusion The importance of local immunity to patho gens was established in the first part of this century. These early studies demonstrated that the levels of antibodies in non vascular fluids corre- lated well in certain cases with resistance to infection at mucous membranes and could be induced independently of systemic immunity Tomasi et al~,1965 However, whether they were locally produced or resulted from transudation of serum was not known untill recently Fudenberg et al., 1976 This work has been conducted in the depart- ments of E.N.T. and Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine,Zagazig University, and is concerned with the studyof local nasal L~unity in patients with allergic rhinitis and those with allergic nasal polypi. To arhieve tha, 90 subj ects rpresellting the <various socioeconomic classes, of both sexes, were chosen, properly Helected and classified into J main groups.
