Abstract:
Summary In this research we studied the changes occming in the E.C.G. during the first five minute ofanaes- thesia we found that high incidenoe of arrhythmia occurcd within that period. But in the presenoe of adequate oxygenation and ventilation can decrease its l~zards. For premedication Morphia was usedt it produced slight changes in the Q.R.S. complex and T wave and slight depression of the ST segment. Atropine may produce tachycardia or bradycardia accoTding to the dose and rate of injection. For alw, esthesia we used two types parenteral and irulala- tion anaesthetic agents Barbiturate s as an paren teral anaesthetic cause increase in the bight of P wave and high doses depress the contractility and cause fall of cardiac output. Ketamine has a minimal effect on the EGG or no effect other parenteal agents proparri c Ld , Diazepan and Ganuna-hydroxyburate as ketamine. The effect of inhalation anaesthetic onthe EGG varied. Some like nitrous oxide in the pre sence of adequate oxygenation and ventilation pro ducod no effect where others like chloroform and cyclopropane caused dangerous arrhytlLmias.
