Abstract:
The aim of the work Is to evaluate the role of helical CT examination of the liverand MRI examination in diagnosis and assessment of focal liverlesion of different types.This study was carried out at Zagazig University Hospitals in theperiod of May 1999 till September 2001, it included 50 patients withfocal liver lesions of different pathological types.All patients were subjected to helical dynamic CT and MRIexamination ( 12 Tesla). CT examination was done with the use ofintravenous iodinated contrast media, helical parameters andacquisition of arterial and venous phases. Different series of MRIexamination were used as Tl WI, T2WI and TlWI after gadoliniuminjection, axial and coronal series were acquired.Fine needle aspiration biopsy was done, unless in cases suspiciousfor hydatid liver disease and slides were histopathologically studied.
