Abstract:
A total of 40 males were participated in this study, 32 of them were partners of infertile marriages the remaining 8were normal fertile used as a control group Semen analysis and hormonal assay for PHL, both in the serum & in the seminal plasma, was done for all men . The mean concentration of PHL in the serum was 11.49 ± 4.8 nq/mland ws significantly different from sminal levels (5.24 ± 2.27 nq/ml) Also, there was no correlation between serum and seminal PHL ( r = 0.1006) Those individuals found to’ be azoospermic had aseminal PHL concentration of 3.77 ± 0.84 nq/ml which was very highly significantly lower than the normozoospermic men (7.48 1.77 nq/ml) P Also, the oligozoospermic group had a PHL concentration of 5.3 ± .70 nq/ml which was significantly lower than the normozoospermic group.
