Abstract:
the dorsal surface of the humam tongue was covered by epithelium which was folded into numerous lingual papillae giving it a rough appearance.one of these lingual papillae was the circumvallate papillae which were located in front of the sulcus terminalis.each papilla was surrounded by primary papillary groove separating the primary circumvallate papilla from the surrounding annular pad.
