Abstract:
as the halothane hepatitis is one of the important problems in theuse of halothane. And because halothane is one of the majors ofanaesthetics in our country. We did this work to find a relation betweenhalothane and liver affection and compare this relation with the effect ofisoflurane on the liver. We anaesthetized eighty patients classified in four main groups.Group I (obstructive jaundice), group II (obese patients), group III(multiple exposures) and group IV (prolonged operations). For each group liver functions were done pre-operatively, after 30minutes postoperatively and after 7 days. The liver functions used in thestudy were liver enzymes AST (aspartate aminotransferase) and AL T(alanine amino-transferase) which showed the cell integrety, cell functionwas examined by check of albumin and prothrombin concentration, andlastly staises by examining the bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase.
