Hair shaft anomalies in infants

Primary epithelial germs or hair germs are developed from embryonal stratum germinativum. The first primordial hair follicles appear on the eye brows, upper lip , and chin at the end of the second and the early part of the third foetal months. The developmental stages of embryonic hair follicle are divided into pregerm, hair grem, hair peg and `bulbous peg stages.
