Abstract:
the first indication of gonadal development in this study appears in the rabbit embryo aged 10 days in the form of two genital ridges, one at the medial aspect of each mesonephros. it was found that, throughout the prenatal period in rabbit, no primordial germ cells are present among or arising from the germinal epithelium.this finding favours an extragondal origin of the germ cells0.
