Abstract:
The aim of this work is to study the value of transvaginalultrasonography in measuring the ovarian size and volume in thepostmenopausal women and to predict the possible malignant changes inthe suspected cases by the use of color Doppler ultrasonography. The current study was undertaken to determine the efficacy of T.V.S.as a screening method for ovarian cancer in asymptomatic postmenopausalwomen and to evaluate the efficacy of transvaginal color Dopplerultrasonography in the early detection of this cancer.Transvaginal color Doppler ultrasonography has been used in earlydetection of ovarian carcinoma on the basis of the neovascularizaion of themalignant neoplasms; and the detection of the new blood flow anddetermination of the velocity and the certain flow indices were all veryhelpful in this current study in the early detection of that evil malignancy.
