Evaluation of schisto-Fast test as a rapid method for diagnosis of schistosoma mansoni in sharkia governorate

The study aim to Revaluation of commercial Schisto-Fast test for detection ofcirculating schistosomal antigens in serum of simple bilharzia!infected patients before and after treatment.A commercially available enzyme immunoassay for thediagnosis of Schistosoma infection was evaluated for the diagnosisof Schistosoma manson. This commercially Schisto-fast” test iscompared with antigen assay by indirect ELISAand antibody assaysby IHAT and ELISA.A total of 82 serum samples were collected and used toevaluate the test performance fifty samples ofthem were collectedfrom subjects’ attending Zagazig University Hospitals, outpatientclinics of Tropical Medicine Department and from some endemicareas in Sharkia Governorate and these persons were infected byschstosoma mansoni.
