The individuals wereclassified into two groups:Group I: comprised 30 patients with UC’ and with mean of age40.4±IO.5 years ...Group II: included 10 healthy individuals with mean age of41.9±8.7 years and taken as control groupPatients of this study were diagnosed on basis of clinical, radiological, endoscopic and histopathological findings -the selected patients weresubjected to:I-Clinical examination with history taking2-Stool analysis by simple sedimentation method3-Complete CBC.4-ESR.5- C-reactive protein.6- Colonoscopy and obtaining biopsy from presenting lesions forhistopathological examinations.7- Measurement of VCAM-I in serum of patient during periods ofactivation and remission.
