Abstract:
the present work aimed at studying some autonomic manifestations occurred due to cerebrovascular accidents,both in acute,and chronic stages.this study was done on 50 patients-20 acute stroke and30old stroke patients.all the patients were clinically evaluated and most of them 42 patients were radiologically investigated-brain C.T. scan-,to assess the proper clinical and aetiological diagnosis.we estimated the plasma epinephrine level in the first 3 days of stroke among acute stroke patients, also some autonomic function tests were performed to the patients of both groups,these tests include,valsalva maneuver in old stroke patients,static exercise test ,blood pressure response to stunding up,test of sweating of both sides of the body,temperature recording of both sides of the body,in patients of both groups, and searching for shoulder-hand syndrome-limb oedema and cyanosis on the hemiplegic side among the old stroke patients.
