Abstract:
In this study, we have to clarify the relationshipbetween the feeling of nasal obstruction in the patientswith atrophic rhinitis of different aetiologies inspite ofmarked width the nasal cavity by measuring the nasal airflow and nasal resistance in comparison with control group.Our present study included fifty patients and tencontrol group, nienteen of theem were diagnose as primaryatrophic rhinitis, sixteen of them were of the atrophicstage of rhinoscleroma and fifteen of them were due to othercauses of secondary atrophic rhinitis.All patients and control group were subjected toperformed anterior rhino manometry to measurement the nasalairflow and nasal resistance.Statistical evaluation of the results showed that thereis a significant decrease in the nasal resistance in thepatients with atrophic rhinitis of different aetiologies incomparison wi th controal gtoup.
