the aim of the present work is to study the ultrastructure oferetina by the electron microscope to gain some insight into thestructure-functionxperimental animal.relationships,using therabbit asanThe retina of ten adult rabbits were used in this study. The~~imens ~rocessed for electron microscopy.The retina consisted of ten laminae:The outer pigmented laminaeThe base of the pigment epithelial cells are infolded by thebasement membrane. The cytoplasm contains mitochondria, largeapical to central nuclei, melanin granules, incompletelymelanized granules and phagosomes near the apical part withmicrovilli.
