Abstract:
This study was carried on 25 patients of bilharzial stricture lower end ureter in Zagazig University Hospital Urology Department (20) cases were unilateraly corrected and 5) cases were bilateraly corrected surgically in the form of ureteroneocystostomy. Post-operative results were assessed over a period of follow up for [5 months to 2 years]. Surgical techniques of ureteroneocystosotmy based on the proposed scoring system showed: 1- Direct ureteroneocystosotmy gave good improvement in 77.14% and stabilization in [22.86%].2- Submucous tunnel uretero-neo-cystostomy: 41.1%J and stabilization in [58.59%]. improvement in These results lend confidence to recommendation that the most important factors affecting post-operative outcome are the presence of secondary pyogenic infection and the degree of upper tract dilatation. Post-operative clearance of UTI can be an indicator of favourable outcome while its persistence directs the attention for further evaluation and probably intervention.
