Studyٍٍ of the level of uric acid in blood and its changes in different age groups and the effect in different socioeconomic classes

the present work aims at studying the level of serumuric acid in healthy Egyptians and to establish the ra-nge for the reference values of serum uric acid amonga sample representing an Egyptian population in orderto serve as a control helping the physicians and resea-rch workers and to find if there is any difference inlevels be tween males and females, and if there is anyrelationship between the mean serum uric acid and age,also we tried to find if there is any difference in thelevel of serum uric acid with the different socio-econ-omic classes.The material comprised 200 cases, 100 males and 100females representing different age groups; age group1-(5, 5-<10, 10-<20, 20-(40, 40->60, they have neverhad any complaint or suspicious of gout, or any arthr-itic disease, also they had no family history of gout.
