Abstract:
Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) are a promising way to provideIntemet ’access and to extend the coverage of wireless local area networks” (WiANs). WM~i a~eundergoing rapid commercialization in many other application scenarios such ’ as community networking, building automation, high speed metropolitan area’networks~J~tid enterprise networking. WMNs are dynamically self-organized and self-configured, withthe nodes in the network automatically establishing an ad hoc network and .maintaining the mesh connectivity. Because of their advantages over other wireless networks, WMNs t are undergoing rapid progress and inspiring numerous applications. , WMNs are onto the wired infrastructure/Internet). Second, in most applications, WMN nodes to be neatly differentiated as either stationary nodes (providingconnectivity and coverage) or mobile nodes (utilizing the coverage afforded by the stationary nodes).
