/Some Applications of Wavelet Transforms

Wavelet transform is very powerful tool in many applications such as Numerical analysis, Detection of self-similarity, Data Compression and Noise Reduction. In this work, we choose the application of noise reduction for (I) Audio signal. (II) Langmuir Probe characteristic.The objective of Application (I) to provide an alternative method to the more traditional spectral subtraction (SS) or model-based approaches to denoising by investigating whether wavelet packet and local trigonometric packet bases can be used to successfully decompose the signal for processing. The result indicates that both local trigonometric packet and wavelet packet bases are better than spectral subtraction.
