Abstract:
Power system control can be considered as one of the most important branches inelectrical power engineering, where the quality of the performance of the powersystem can be improved specially in presence of reasons lead to instability during theoperating of power system. Before applying the controller, firstly this thesis presents modeling of powersystem in different treatment according to the order of the model and its details, so itdeals with third, fifth and seventh order models with and without accessories such asSpeed Governor and Automatic Voltage Regulator. Also the effects of different model parameters and loading conditions on systemperformance are studied to get completely analysis before control stage. The newtrends in power systems control is oriented toward using the artificial intelligence as acontrol tool to apply on power system. Fuzzy control can be considered as moresuitable technique for this task.So this thesis presents an effective fuzzy controller which applied on singlemachine model and multi-machine model and gives an excellently response over widerange of operating conditions comparable with conventional controller which givesunsatisfactory performance in most study cases. The fuzzy controller can be considered as power system stabilizer whichimproves the stability of the system, and it belongs to adaptive control where the fuzzycontroller, once trained by a set of input-output patterns, can yield proper controlaction under any operating conditions.
