Abstract:
Optimal locating of power distribution substation and feederrouting is necessary in a new expansion planning. The optimum design ofthe network is carried out by minimizing the total cost of the distributionsystem under some existing constraints. In this thesis Genetic Algorithm(GA) has been used to obtain the best location of substation and theoptimal number of feeders outgoing from it. The proposed algorithm hasbeen applied for different distributed loads, dispersed in a region ofdifferent areas to be fed by one substation. The planning problem can be classified into: conductor gradingproblem, routing problem and general planning problem. In this work, routing problem and general planning problem are considered.
