Tool path control for contouring machines

A method for reducing tool path error on Numerically controlled contouring machines is presented .Contouring systems incorporating this tool path algorithm will attain optimum machine performance as measured by toool path error relative to the tool path rate .Topice converded in this paper include a computer Numerical control (CNC) Motion system overview and development of the tool path algorithm.Simulation results of the dynamic tool path behavior for atow-dimensional motion system are provided.A comarison of these results with current tool path behavior reveal a significant reduction in tool path error on systems incorporating this technique .
