Abstract:
Grid systems (ribbed slabs) are commonly used to cover comparatively large areas, where no interior supports are permitted . Orthogonal grid floors are usually analysed using approximate two-way slab method or a simplified method. stiffeness method or ( numerical techniques which has been developed and computerized to ensure both safety and economic design. A linear plane grid computer program has been developed in this study. The program is equipped by a subroutine for load distribution and calculation of fixed end forces. A data generation pr.ogr.am has been designed to generate the required data for the plane grid program. The plate analogy method has been introduced and a computer program for the analysis of orthogonal and diagonal grids using this method has been developed. The approximate method, simplified method and plate analogy method have been evaluated using the stiffeness method results.
