Abstract:
The dynamic nature of today’s construction industry compels construction partners to seek strategies to improve performance. This study introduces an updatingperformance evaluation model for that one previously developed by Goda (1999).beams to predict the internal temperature distribution. Then the temperaturegradients along the central section was expressed in the form of equations forcalculating the internal temperature at any depth under the effect of any externalapplied temperature, in which the gradients of temperature on the cross-sectionwere considered by changes the material properties for every element utilized inthe finite analysis for steel and concrete are taken into consideration. Numericalanalysis by using non-linear finite element problem were also carried out toobtain the internal stress distributions, the vertical and horizontal displacementsof all nodes at different heating temperatures. Results were compared to thoseexperimentally showing acceptable results.
