Abstract:
The research presented in this thesis evaluates the influence of the change of the annular gap dimensions of the closed two-phase double-tube thermosyphon (CTP-DTT) on the characteristics of hot fluid in evaporator, and the performance of thermosyphon. This study predicts the features, characteristics, and performance of hot fluid in riser of CTP-DTT. Therefore, it is considered the unique parametric experimental study in this field that gave a clear understanding for hot channel behavior with change of annulus dimension. The study showed saving of economic cost based on optimum gap width selection. This make the system more widely applicable in the future for most industrial applications. The presented analysis evaluates the influence of annular gap spacing in double-tube evaporator of thermosyphon. The prototypical system showed the considerable facilities of range of changing the gap width. In addition to the expected savings of economic cost that based on optimum gap width selection. This make the system more widely applicable in the future for most applications. The experimental setup facilities in addition to all runs have been performed in The Heat Transfer and Desalination Laboratory (HTDL) of Reactors Department for the behalf of Nuclear Research Center, Atomic Energy Authority of Egypt.
