Abstract:
Maintenance planning is always an important activity to keepthe machines and equipment running effeciently during theiruseful life. There are two basic methods of maintenance planning, thetime based maintenance(TBM)and the condition basedmalntenance (CBM). The CBM is the modern approach of maintenanceplanning. The main objective of this work is to schedule the CBMactivities. This objective is verified by using a mathematicalmodel. The mathematical model is based on the lead time of eachitem (machine or part).Thelead timeis established fromvibration monitoring and is used as a tool for fault detectionand fault growth. To establish the main objective, some steps hasto be followed; these are:1- Definition of the item condition,2- Calculation of the monitoring Intervals, according tothe item condition using a proposed technique based on amathematical formula,3- Definition of the suitable maintenance action for eachItem according to its condition,4- Definition of the maintenance priorities,5- Formulation of the mathematical model to schedule theCBM activities both when the machine is a part of a processtrain or is a single arrangement. The economic analysis has been used to calculate the net
