Abstract:
The use of SCADA, ~upervisory Control And Data Acquisition package in integrated power grids at the dispatch centers is commonplace. Faults may develop in power system, protection system, SCADA or monitoring equipment. Currently there are two board classes of knowledge-based fault diagnosis system, namely those used heuristics employed by diagnosticians and model reference systems. Second-generation systems have been presented that combines both the previous methods. The aim of this study is to enhance the performance of the knowledge based fault diagnosis system known. Further to develop a new approach to accomplish fault section estimation using information from available database. This system will be applicable to dispatching centers and can help dispatchers to judge emergency situations as the first step in restoration process. It is evident to study on the techniques of fault locating techniques. Also, it is required to study on the case of multiple faults and false operations of relays and circuit breakers. To do these jobs, many tools and shells are used like CLIPS, EXSYS, and (ANNs) toolbox forusewith MA TLAB.
