Abstract:
Summery Elasto-plastic behavior of frames subjected to repeated loadsEng. / Ragab Shaker Mahmoud Mohamed In many engineering situations structures and structural elements are subjected to variable repeated loads during it’s life time according to the type of building such as snow loads on the roofs, wind loads on each face, welting and drying effect of water structures, series loads on rail way bridges and crane loads on the factories or variable repeated straining effects as temperature changes, imposed displacement, etc which fluctuate significantly in time, often randomly and independently. In such situations the elastic-plastic structural behaviour may imply shakedown (or adaptation). This means that after some time, plastic strains cease to develop further. So that response to subsequent loading cycles becomes elastic, while permanent deformations and consequent residual stresses remain constant.
