Abstract:
The current study is intended to investigate the flexural and shear behaviors of hybrid fiber high strength self compacted reinforced concrete (HyFHSSCRC) beams. Furthermore, the effects of adding the hybrid fiber partially and/or fully in the reinforced concrete beams on their flexural bahvior and failure modes have been studied. According to the experimental work, all the twelve beams have a rectangular cross-section of width (b) = 150 mm, height (h) = 250 mm and an affective depth (d) = 219 mm. The length of the beam (L) = 2500 mm with span of 2300 m. All the beams were tested in four point bending (4PB).A group of five reinforced concrete beams was designed to be under reinforced, to ensure flexural tensile failure. One beam as control beam (without fiber), namely beam BF1, the other four beams are reinforced by the hybrid fiber with different patterns to get the efficient pattern in increasing the flexural capacity of reinforced concrete beam. all beams were reinforced with longitudinal steel bars 2 Ф 12 mm located at the bottom in tension zone, 2 Ф 10 mm located at the top in compression zone, and Ф8 mm steel bares were also used for stirrups. Shear reinforcement are provided in the shear spans of spacing center to center 75 mm. with shear span/ affective depth (a/d) = 4.
