Abstract:
An investigation of the performance of pilot operatedrelief valves has been carried out in order to develop amathematical model capable of representing the performanceof these valves accurately. The developed modelconsideration the basic valve nonlinearities. The validityof the proposed model is verified by comparing the theoretical and experimental static characteristics of these valves. The simulation of the valve on a digi~al computer iscarried out using three different methods. The effects of:some constructional parameters on the valve performanceare studied by the exploitation of the proposed model. The optimum values of these parameters are predicted.
