Abstract:
In this thesis a study of laminar flame structure using simplifiedkinetic mechanisms is carried out. Investigation of laminar flame structureis done by using time - dependent method. The governing equations aresolved using a finite difference technique. A computer program is writtenand used for calculations . The program is used to study ozonedecomoosition flame with a simplified transport model over the range ofinitial ozone mole fraction of 0.20 to 1.00 . The obtained results t gasestemperatures and species concentrations) are used to calculate the laminarburing velocity over the same range of initial ozone mole fractions. There isa fair agreement with experimental and calculated values. Discrepanciesbetween calculated and experimental results are explained. To use the program in studying the structure of hydrocarbon flames. asimplified kinetic mechanism is formulated. using a screening technique.from detailed kinetic mechanisms of propane combustion. This mechanismis validated by using it to calculate ignition delay time. In addition. it isused to reproduce other kinetic behaviour data of the propane under
