Abstract:
thesis analysis on fracture based indeterminate frames containing cracks mechanics, photoelastic techniques and finite element method. Firstly, fracture the fundam~ntal principles of mechanics are discussed. A brief about discussion of stress component in the crack tip, stress analysis for members with cracks. Experimental photoelastic and numerical techniques have been carried out to effect of cracks on the investigate the behaviour of two fixed frames subjected to symmetrical vertical concentrated frame is loads and other case the subjected to one horizontal oncentrated load. (ARALDITE-CT- 200) is used to prepare the models used in this thesis with the span and same span ratio. the distribution of internal shear and normal stresses obtained at different sections at various crack depth ratio. The stress intensity factor (K1 net) is obtained based on the measured local stress value. Based the present in normal results, an increase on stresses is occurred at sections far from the crack location.
