Performance testing and specifications of twisted pair cables

High-speed data transmission over twisted pair cables isindeed a challenging proposition and currently of great interest.Twisted pair cables used for transport of telecommunicationservices consist of bundles of copper wire pairs connectinga wire center to customers. Twisted pair cables also arecommonly used for the connections between the different partsof the system in the telecom field. The main object of this workis to study performance testing and specifications of twisted paircables and search about ways make these types of cables freefrom defects.This work introduces characteristics of twisted pair cableswhich play an important role in transferring data. In this work,category 5 as a type of twisted pair cables was selected toverify all tests on it according to ISO/lEe 11801 as one ofinternational standard specifications.
