Abstract:
The present study consists of seven chapters and one appendix. he main objective of the present one was to investigate the effect of the ownstream slope of the hump on the flow characteristics in the two of free and submerged flows for horizontal and inclined channels’In the theoretical approach, dimensional analysis was employed to etermine the different parameters affecting the flow characteristics. Both e energy and continuity equations were used to obtain the different lationships between the flow parameters and the flow characteristics.Experimental study was conducted on a small flume of rectangular annel section of 10 cm width in the two cases of free and suhmerged ows for a horizontal and inclined channel of bed slopes of (1 :500, :200, and 1: 100). Five models with different heights (2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 ) with equal lengths of 50 cm were tested. The upstream slope of each odel was changed from sharp to slope of 1: 1, and the downstream slope m sharp to different slopes like (1 :5, 1 :3, 1: 1 and 3 :2) respectively. o thousands runs were conducted. All experimental results were analyzed to study the effect of downearn slope of the hump on the flow characteristics
