Abstract:
The present study consists of eight chapters and two appendices. esis aims to study the design of the stilling basin downstream of vents regulators with sill and without sill under gate for free flow. It an extensive literature review of the previous studies of the. c jump in rectangular and radial basin with sill under gate.In the theoretical approach, a dimensional analysis was carried out ermine the various parameters affecting the length of hydraulic The continuity, momentum, and energy equations were used to different theoretical equations. These equations were used to ute the relative water depth, the relative energy losses and the e length of jump for various opening operations of multi-ventsAn experimental study was carried out on horizontal bed in glassed th rectangular channel of 15.60m total length, 30cm width, and m depth. Eighteen models of sill with different heights and different tream sill slopes are tested at five opening vent operations. Two ds and four hundred runs were conducted for free flow. The water depth, the initial water depth, the sequent water depth, the of the jump and the flow rate were measured for each run after the ,becomes established.Statistical analysis for the experimental data was conducted to ute the coefficient of regression and the correlation coefficient for erimental data. All coefficients are tabulated in chapter five. All experimental results were analyzed and discussed. The nship between the relative water depth, the relative length of jump, relative energy losses presented versus the initial Froude number.erification of the developed theoretical equations was presented to the accuracy of the developed equations. Design charts introduced pute the length of the stilling basin for different opening vent with sill and without sill under gate.ccording to the present theoretical study and dimensional• , the length of jump co-relates with the different parameters can n as follows:-8.1the general developed equation which used to compute length depend on different parameters can be written as follows:experimental and theoretical results for the design of the asin downstream of multi-vents regulator were conducted for umber less than 8. The main conclusions can be summarized as
