Application Of Labour Intensive Methods For Road Construction In Egypt

This research deals with the possibility of applying the labor intensive concept on the constructing and maintaining the Egyptian roads.· The main problem in this research concerns the applisation of labor intensive technique in some items of road construction / maintenance as an alternative of using equipment, that is due to the problems of equipments, as applying the method of labor intensive in constructing and maintaining the roads lead to providing a lot of work opportunities which help in improving the standard of living, supporting the social and .economical activities. < The items and steps of constructing the roads by applying the labor-Intensive concept was determined as well as the way of managing the projects of constructing and maintaining the roads by using labor intensive. This research shows the strategy, which the work had followed with the explanation of achieving this research, this research < The First phase includes collecting data from different sour_ces:A- Collecting data by knowing the experter’s opinions in the field ofmaintaining roads sample of questionnaire was made to collect data, from this sample a primitive study was made, this sample was developed till it. reach its final shape. This sample contains all the data concernedwith applying some items of maintenance with a detailed explanation for the construction procedures, the labor required, material required and production rates.
