Abstract:
The use of the CO2 dioxide laser in infertility surgery has expanded during the past several years. The results are equal to those of conventional microsurgery, and the CO2 laser has been associated with bloodless surgery and easy accessibility to deep locations in the pelvic cavity. Tissue healing is good, with a marked reduction in fibrosis, especially with the use of pulsed mode. Recently, the introduction of the waveguide enhanced the use of the CO2 laser during laparoscopy for treatment of pelvic pathology. The results suggest that laser laparoscopy shortens the recovery period and duration of hospitalization of patients.
