Abstract:
Water distribution works constitute one of the mostimportant and expensive parts of water supply works. Theirbasic function is to distribute water through cities forordinary consumption as well as delivering water at high ratestur tire tighting. The analysis for water distribution networks is anessential procedure for the design and expansion of waterworks. But in many of the developing countries these jobs usedto be carried out emperically, partially because the methodsof network analysis are some how either complicated or tediousHowever computer development had made possible for manyof the analytical methods to be programmed for solving networkproblems.Nevertheless still in many of the developing countries;the engineers and technicians can not have access easily tolarge and costly computer facilities. The aim of thi s study is to dr-aw attenti on to thepowerful tool now available to the water networks staffs inthe form of microcomputer programs, which could be run on arelatively cheap and flexable machines. Also to highlight theproblems that could be met during the investigation of a waternetwork that had been designed and developed based only onrules-of thumb and the adoption of best practice.
