After the construction of the Aswan High Dam, the supply of Nile silt has has resulted in a sharp DROP in the production of building bricks made from this natural raw material. This study aimed to evaluate five types of bricks for use as a suitable substitute for the diminish. These types are mixed shalebrick, modified shale brick, sand-lime brick, cement brickand gypsum fiber boards which are produced in Sharkia Governorate. This evaluation is from the techno-economical point of view. The analysis revealed that the best type is the modified shale brick, snad-lime brick, mixed shale brick, but it was prohibited by law, cement brick and came in the latest, gypsum fiber boards.
