Abstract:
The object of this thesis is to show as far as possiblea good picture of the actual stresses distributions within stip footing with different shapes and to determine. The rundation represents the most delicate part of the structures. the strip footings are extensively used in fact- ories, buildings, etc •• <Anciently, the materials of foundation, may be masonary brickwork, etc •• Nowadays the reinforced concrete, plain concrete and precast concrete elements are used as parts of footings. The design of safe andeconamica1 footing-foundation requites the knowledge of the stress distribution and, the values of such stresses at different sections, of the footing the values of stresses are function of footing-shapes, loading~type of founded soil, etc •• The simple calculation of internal stresses in the critical sections of strip footings ls based on the application of the elementray formula ( f a ~iY ). This formula is based on <the assumption that the relative ratio between the depth and the width of the footing is very small, cross section of footings remain plane during bending and neglects the effect of compressive vertica1 normal stresses between the different layers.
