Building construction systems

In the recent years I the necessi ty for the provision of great numbers of housing units has taken the top import-ance in the list of necessi ties required for facing thepopulation explosion in Egypt.The high required rates of the construction of these units can be achieved either by increasing productioncapaci ty or by minimizing the time necessary for building the unit. The former solution requires big investments in a temporary raising theengineering industry I while the latter depends efficiency performance and usingmostly on developed construction systems. This trend has stressed the concrete works In Egypt where developed construction systems (mechanized systems) I and prefabrication systems were used wi thout changing the tradi tional materials and finishing methods. This led to finishing the buildingalmost in the same period of time I but at a higher cost than that of applying the traditional methods of construc-tion.Hence I the developing of construction methods should be equal to a developing of materials and finishing methodswhere the finishing works form about 55-75 % of the totalcost of the building and takes 45-75% of the time of finishing the building
