Influence surfaces of plates with different support conditions

The use of influence surfaces for bendingmomentsinrectangular slabs is very important for calculating moments andstresses induced in such slabs due to any system ofloads.Thiswork deals with the construction of theinfluence surfaces forrectangular plates with different types of support conditions. Thesupport conditions considered in this thesis are either edgesupport ( fixed or simply supported or point supports atdifferent positions. Eight~ cases of rectangular plates withdifferent support conditi0ns and different ratios ofrectangularity are considered in this work.For each plate theinfluence surfaces of mome~t iri the two directions at the criticalpDints are constructed. Theseinffuence surfaces are used tocalculate the bending moments due to any type of loading acting onthe plate. These constructed influence surfaces are very importantand useful for the designer engineers.1 .
