Abstract:
The main aim of this research is to develop an elastoplastic mathematical model for the analysis of soil-geotextile systems. The idea of classical elastic theory incorporating the plastic behaviour have been used. < with the Prandtl-Reuss Flow rule have been used to generate the elastoplastic model. The theoretical model was incorporated into a specially developed Finite element program in which the foundation soil was idealized as an elastic-perfectly plastic material. The developed model was verified by comparing the derived elastoplastic matrix with that separately developed by otherresearchers. The problem of strip footing resting on sand soil with and Hithout one layer of geotextile was analysed using the suggested model and finite element program. This was done to check the practicality of the model and the computer program as well as to check the validity of the model. ·The results were compared with published experimental data for the same problem.
