Abstract:
This thesis presents a comparison between bit error rate (BER)and probability of error (Pe) for both baseband and bandpass systems(phase shift-keying, amplit.ude shift keying, and frequency shift-keying), experimentally and theoretically. Experimental results areobtained through realization of a modified simple modules fortransmitting, receiving and simulated channel circuits.A good agreement with theoretical results is obtained. All theexperimental curves has a water flow shape. PSK system has the bestBER performance with respect to ASK and FSK, while ASK(noncoherent) has the worst case. In baseband, Manchester formatwaveform has better error performance than NRZ, and RZ format. This work can be extented to improve BER by using othermodulation techniques and using channel coding which will be takenfurther.
