Abstract:
This paper develops an integrated CAD/CAM adaptive controlCNC system for milling operations. This research deals with theintegration of the geometric modelling of the product and the control of themachining operation. The geometric modelling provides a completedescription of part geometries providing its database for the analysis andmanufacturing of the part. The modelling of machining operations developsa better understanding of the process for control evaluation. The system contains the automatic generation of NC part programthrough CAD and CAM system. CAD system is used to define thegeometry which may be used by a CAM program for tooth pathgeneration.Another feature of the system is that it uses the concept of adaptivecontrol force constraint to overcome the unpredictable changes in themachining process. These changes may occur in various factors such aswork geometry, material, and tool wear . This concept uses feedratemanipulation to maintain a specified cutting force in the presence ofvarying machining conditions. This requires a model to study the
