Abstract:
this thesis is concerned with the experimental and theoretical analysis of a soil-reinforcement model systems under plane strain conditions .the case of a surface rigid strip footing subjected to a vertical load and resting on a semi-infinite homogeneous elastic foundation soil with and without horizontal reinforcement layers was studied .the photoelasticity and finite element techniques were used as an experimental and theoretical methods of analysis respectively..
