Abstract:
forced convection solar still was investigated to study itsperformance, and the factors affecting the water collection processes, asliquid phase condensed on the glass cover, or vapor phase carried by theforced stream of air, have been received. The theoretical model of waterevaporation by using solar humidification through a long channel is carriedout, for three different applications: solar pond collector humidifier, solarwater-spray pond collector humidifier and solar drip-tray pond collectorhwnidifier. Considering sea water is flowing along that channel with airflowing on top.The govemmg equations mass balance for both water and air streams,as will as the energy balance equations for water stream, air stream, the glasscover and ambient air were written with their boundary conditions. Theequations were solved numerically using a computer program for a widerange of parameters. Energy sources and transfer mechanisms have beenidentified, that is energy in, energy out, heat and mass exchange for bothwater and air streams passing through the solar channel. The energy and thetemperature distributions along the channel were shown for differentconstructive factors, and working conditions.from the numerical results, it was shown that the heat gain by waterand air, which can measure the productivity along the channel was increased, the glass, air and water temperatures increased and the humidity ratio was
