Abstract:
Perhaps the study of architecture in Egypt in the courseof the nineteenth century is of considerable importance since itis imperative to know the trends that have influenced it in thisage, which was the inception of the position of the modern statebases, and scientific and economic renascence in the country,as well as the commencement of social alteration and the grO\vthof national spirit.Mohamed Aly and his dynasty sought the aid of foreignexpertise in an attempt to catch up the two European and Tur-kish civilizations, the fact that has engendered great archi-tectural revival, which was exposed to several influences, asthe European style prevailed particularly since the KhediveIsmail assumed the power in the country. Egypt has becomethe object of world attention from all sides, particularlyfue archaelogical and cultural sides, which urged the dissert-ator to set off the Islamic heritage in architecture and itstrends during this period in his attempt to contribute some-h~ or other to the search for the distinctive character ofour architecture called for by many pioneers of architecturein Egypt nowadays.Object of the Dissertation1- Stu~ing and analysing certain Islamic buildings in Cairoto know the architectural trends that have exerted an in-fluence upon them;
