biodegradation of cholesterol by some soil actinomycetes

In our research, we designed to through somelight on the possibility of characterization and purification of cholesterol oxidase enzyme from a high potent isolate, which includes the following steps:1- Isolation of cholesterol oxidase producing actinomycetes from different localities of cultivated soil at Sharkia governorate.2- Purification and maintenance of actinomycete isolates.3- Screening of actinomycete isolates for their cholesterol oxidase productivity under shaking conditions.4- Identification of the most potent cholesterol oxidase producing isolate according to morphological, physiological and cultural properties of isolate.5- Studying the environmental and nutritional factors affecting cholesterol oxidase production by the most potent isolate.6- Purification of cholesterol oxidase produced by the most active organism.7- Studying the factors affecting activity of purified cholesterol oxidase enzyme.
