Abstract:
The aim of this study is to evaluate the hydrocarbon system and hydrocarbon potentialities of A/R Formation in Shushan Basin, North Western Desert, Egypt. The study area is delineated by latitudes 30° 30̀ to 31° 00̀ N and longitudes 26° 16̀ to 27° 18̀ E. The data used in this study include geochemical analysis reports for 102 ditch samples representing the A/R ”G” Mbr. in 17 wells in Shushan Basin and well logs of fifteen exploratory wells from Kenz and Tut oil fields in the study area. The lithostratigraphic and structural cross sections, thickness variations and lithofacies analysis are discussed in details for the seven members of A/R Formation in Shushan Basin. They show that the area was affected by several normal faults and faulted
