Abstract:
The obtained chemical analysis for Roscua monazitc, the aim of this work is the separation of uranium, thorium and rare earth elementsIrorn Rosetta mouazitc The proposed alkaline chemical treatment of the obtained monazitcconcentrates has indicated that the separation of thorium uranium and rareearth metals in pure products can be successfully achieved by alkalinetreatment. The percent recovery of Th and U attains to 85, 90<% wtrespectively while the percent of recovery for REEs was about 95% wtpure RI ’:Es. from the ThiLJ cake we can conclude that:For alkali carbonate leaching or Th/U cake. the optimum condition IS20 % sodium carbonate, (1 15) S/L ratio at 80 DC for separation Th andU Irorn its leach liquor.2- On the addition of H202 can precipitate Th as thorium oxide, then acidification the filtrate to precipitate U. from the REEs cake we can conclude that:1- Separation ofCc from RI’: cake. In addition, Cc was individuallyseparatedvia its oxidation into Cc (JV) with recovery exceeding 95 <%and with high purity.2- ••. The other RJ]~s were individually separated using l)o\\l(’’(50W/’8 through their corresponding 1-:1),1/\ complexes.
